Volunteers at St. Elizabeth's are among our most precious resources. They are a critical part of our ability to fulfill our mission of "serving the physical and spiritual needs of our community by delivering the highest-quality care with compassion and respect." St. Elizabeth's is proud to be the Brighton-based flagship of Steward Health Care, the largest fully integrated community care organization in New England.
St. Elizabeth’s volunteers can be found throughout our hospital on a daily basis. Whether they are greeting folks at our entrance ways, staffing reception desks, visiting or assisting patients, or working on special projects, these dedicated individuals help us to consistently demonstrate our core values of compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence by generously giving of their time and skill sets.
In addition to supporting our hospital staff in their efforts to provide the most high-quality, compassionate care available, volunteers can make a direct difference in the lives of our patients, their families and our visitors by providing hope, kindness, and a helping hand.
As a way of saying ‘thank you’ to our volunteers, we offer the following benefits:
Becoming a volunteer at St. E’s is a straightforward process designed to ensure that all volunteers are oriented to hospital and Volunteer Services policies. The interval between submitting an application and being cleared for service is typically two to three weeks. Visit the St. E's Volunteer How-To Guide to learn about our application process.
