Saint Anne’s Hospital Receives Gold Seal of Approval™

Saint Anne’s Hospital, a Caritas Christi family hospital located in the heart of Fall River, has received the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCA). This certification was awarded for demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards in health care quality and safety. Saint Anne’s Hospital received this Gold Seal of Approval in August 2008 and accreditation is effective for three years.
The mission of The Joint Commission is to “continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public through the provision of health care accreditation and related services that support performance improvement in health care organizations.” In keeping with this mission, The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States through an independent accreditation process. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized by patients, clinicians and health care systems nationwide as the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.

In addition to the Gold Seal of Approval, Saint Anne’s Hospital has also received the following Special Quality Award from The Joint Commission:

  • Hospital Quality Alliance Participant, which designates that a hospital has agreed to submit performance measures for publication on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) website. 

Saint Anne’s has been recognized and accredited for the following programs:

  • Cancer Care: Accredited with commendation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program
  • Radiation Oncology: Unconditional, three-year accreditation by the American College of Radiology and the American Society for Radiation Oncology
  • Behavioral Health Care: Saint Anne’s Hospital is recognized for providing behavioral health care services in the following areas: mental health, chemical dependency, child welfare, foster care, and mental retardation/developmental disabilities services.
  • Pathology and Clinical Laboratory:  Saint Anne’s Hospital is recognized for providing hospital-based main laboratories or testing facilities, free-standing laboratories, embryology laboratories, reference laboratories, blood banks and donor centers.
