Good Samaritan Medical Center Receives Gold Seal of Approval™
Good Samaritan Medial Center, a Caritas Christi family hospital, located in heart of Brockton, has received the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission on Accreditation (JCA). This certification was awarded for demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards in health care quality and safety. Good Samaritan Medical Center received this Gold Seal of Approval in March 2006 and accreditation is effective for three years.
The mission of The Joint Commission on Accreditation is to “continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public through the provision of health care accreditation and related services that support performance improvement in health care organizations.” In keeping with this mission, The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States through an independent accreditation process. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized by patients, clinicians and health care systems nationwide as the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.
In addition to the Gold Seal of Approval, Good Samaritan Medical Center has also received the following Special Quality Award from The Joint Commission:
- Hospital Quality Alliance Participant, which designates that a hospital has agreed to submit performance measures for publication on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) website.
