Patient Story - Lisa Wenger

As a child, I was always heavier than most kids my age.

As an adult, my struggle with the weight got even more serious until finally reaching a point where something needed to be done - and fast. Otherwise, I was going to have major health problems.

That's when I decided to visit St. Elizabeth's Center for Weight Control. I first met with Dr. Pecquex who explained the different weight loss procedures available to me. Then I started going to support group meetings and talking to patients who had gastric bypass or LAP-BAND® surgery. Every single person said the same thing: "I wish I had done this sooner." Well, that was all I needed to hear. I had done my homework, asked lots of questions, and was ready to start my journey to a healthier, happier new me.

Today, everyone on my St. E's weight loss surgery team is still like family to me. They truly helped change my life. I feel better, I look better and I actually love myself now.
