Por Cristo, a  member of the Steward Health Care System, is a charitable medical service organization that has been involved in health care work for at-risk women and children in Latin America.  Since 1979, Por Cristo's primary focus is on serving Ecuador.

Por Cristo carries out its mission in four distinct ways: 

• Por Cristo Nutrition and Health Center
• Institution-strengthening through Medical Expertise/Technical Assistance
• Collaboration on a Community Health/Tuberculosis Project
• Provision of Medical Equipment and Supplies to clinics and hospitals
