Radiation Oncology

Exceptional Radiation Oncology Team

A full radiation oncology program and team are located at Norwood Hospital's Cancer Center in Foxboro. Staff members include radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrist, radiation oncology nurses and therapists, nutritionist, and administrative personnel.

Personalized Care and Treatment Options

The department features a Varian linear accelerator, which provides the most current treatment options, including 3D conformal and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). With the aid of a CT scanner, the radiation oncologist and the oncologist’s staff work together to customize a precise treatment plan for each patient that will give a uniform radiation dose to the tumor site and at the same time decrease the dose to healthy tissues and organs, causing fewer side effects.

The radiation oncology department is supported by an impressive array of imaging equipment and capability at the cancer center, including CT and PET Scanning.

Comfortable, Modern Facility

The center's radiation oncology wing offers the most up-to-date cancer-fighting technology in a comfortable, modern environment. The two-story atrium and skylight (right) are the facility's signature features.
