Pre-Admission Testing

Surgery Prep bookletThe Pre-Admission Testing Department at Norwood Hospital prepares patients for elective surgery. Pre-admission testing (also called pre-test) is scheduled through your surgeon’s office.

At the time of your pre-test appointment, you will first register at the hospital's Admitting desk in the Draper Lobby. It is important that you bring your completed pre-operative patient questionnaire that your surgeon's office gave you. During your appointment, you will complete any necessary clinical testing, such as blood work, urine test, X-rays or EKG. You will also meet with a nurse and a member of the anesthesia team.

Appointments take approximately one hour with day and evening appointments available. If pre-admission testing is not necessary, nursing staff will make every effort to conduct a phone interview prior to your scheduled surgery. For questions or additional information, you may contact Pre-Admission Testing at 781-278-6750. Click here to view the "Preparing for Your Surgery" booklet.
