Did you know...Holy Family's recent performance on Massachusetts' core measures for heart care are all at or approaching 100 percent.

According to the American Heart Association, heart disease, or cardiovascular disease, claims more lives than any other illness. In fact, it is the number one killer of men and women in the United States.

At Holy Family Hospital, we offer patients state-of-the-art technology, compassionate care and skilled, knowledgable staff trained in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of heart conditions, circulatory problems, and cardiovascular disease. Sophisticated imaging studies and minimally invasive blood vessel treatment procedures are performed in our state-of-the-art ultrasound and angiography facilities. Experts in their fields, such as Peter Cary, MD, radiologist (pictured above) combine technology and experience to diagnose and treat patients

Holy Family is home to one of the Merrimack Valley's only cardiac rehabilitation programs. Our highly skilled staff and patient-centered approach have earned our program accreditation by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). We are also home to the only certified stroke program in the area, and participate in the National Stroke Center's quality and outcome studies.

Patients in need of more advanced heart care, can go to Holy Family's sister hospital St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, which is one of the country's Top 100 Hospitals for cardiovascular services. St. Elizabeth's cardiologists are at the forefront of developments in cardiovascular therapies, interventional cardiology and the use of implantable heart devices. Their cardiac surgeons perform more than 600 open-heart surgeries every year.
