Social Work

Good Samaritan Medical Center's social workers provide support for an array of issues, including psycho social support, referrals to outpatient substance abuse programs or outpatient counseling. They can also assist or make referrals with financial or housing concerns. Our social workers also offer support on bereavement issues and dealing with illness. They also facilitate support groups for cancer patients and their families and facilitate an infant loss support group.

Good Samaritan's social workers are available, on site, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. They are also available on weekends via beeper from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You can reach a social worker by calling 508-427-3172. You may also request to speak with a social worker by asking your nurse, physician or case manager. On weekends, a social worker can be paged by calling the operator at extension 508-427-3000.
